Change in Venue - New Zealand Food Awards Gala Dinner

As you will no doubt be aware, there was a major fire at the SkyCity Auckland Convention Centre last night and the complex remains closed this morning.

We have made the decision to move tonight’s NZ Food Awards Gala Dinner to a new location at the Aotea Centre in Central Auckland.

We have also been advised by Auckland Conventions that the air quality at the Aotea Centre has not been negatively impacted by the fire at the SkyCity International Convention Centre site. If we receive any further advice from the Auckland Emergency Control Centre, we will be in touch.

The details are as follows:

New Venue:

Hunua Rooms,
Level 1, Aotea Square,
50 Mayoral Drive, Auckland CBD

Time:

6pm for pre-dinner drinks,
7pm for dinner and awards,
11.30pm event close

Parking:

The Civic car park – Guests should use the Greys Avenue entrance to access the Civic car park building.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and look forward to hosting you to an evening of first-class food, wine and entertainment to celebrate the achievements of this year’s finalists and winners.

SkyCity Accommodation

We know a lot of guests have accommodation booked at SkyCity tonight. We have been in contact with SkyCity and it is committed to finding alternative accommodation for all guests. 

If you have accommodation booked at SkyCity, we have received the following instructions from its operations team:

  • Please head to Level 1 of the Convention Centre, via Albert Street.

  • The SkyCity team has set up a desk on Level 1 to advise guests which hotel they will be relocated to.

  • Once your new accommodation details have been confirmed, the SkyCity team will organise a taxi to take you straight to your hotel for check in, so please take your bags with you.
