You didn’t create your product to sit on the back of a shelf, sad and unseen (or unsold!). Your hard work and ambition deserves recognition in the market place – entering the New Zealand Food Awards can help your product achieve break through.
Working through our entry process will give you a great overview of your product/s and your business. This can be further enhanced by feedback you’ll get from our expert industry and technical judges.
The New Zealand Food Awards quality mark is a badge of honour worn by only a select few products at the very top of your industry. The mark, available to finalists and winners, provides hard-won differentiation, recognition and validation.
The gala dinner and winner announcement are a great networking event where you can rub shoulders with key industry experts, influencers, sponsors and peers.
Prize packs for each category, specifically designed to assist you to grow your business, will be announced later in the year.
For those of you big on enthusiasm but short on time, here’s a quick reference guide to entering the New Zealand Food Awards.

Entry is as easy as 1-2-3
Entries for the New Zealand Food Awards are managed here on our secure online portal, so the first thing you’ll need to do is create your unique username and password. Just click ‘enter the awards’ on the top right of your screen to get started. After that, it really is as easy as 1-2-3.
Enter online: May 1-31
Entries are open for the month of May – you will be able to work on your application, pause, save, and go back to it at any time. You must complete and submit your entry, including payment, prior to 11.59pm on Friday May 31 2019. You will receive email confirmation of entry when details are complete and credit card payment has been received.
2. Wait to receive delivery instruction
We’ll email you between June 5-7 with this information.
Details will be specific your entry, depending on your product and category - if you have multiple entries, instructions may vary between products. Please check your delivery instruction email(s) carefully and contact us as soon as possible if you have any concerns about your ability to fulfill the requirements.
3. Send product to Massey University Auckland
This information is all in the email we’ll send you in June. Keep in mind that judging week is July 8-12 so delivery windows will be just prior to this.
Finalists will be announced on August 21, winners will be announced at our Gala Dinner on October 23.
